Earthquake Experience House
In 1556, during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, a great earthquake took place in central Shaanxi. Modern technology predicts that the earthquake magnitude is over 8 and the intensity is Level 11. 101 states and counties were affected. The Ming History recorded that the death toll reached 0.83 million. The damages were serious, which is rare in history.
Earthquake Experience House uses this history as the background to promote popular science education. High technology is adopted and large machines, experience platform and real people performance are combined to simulate the true scenes of the great earthquake in central Shaanxi. The project covers an area of 1500 m2; there are 20 actors; and the designed audience volume is 40. Large mechanical collapse devices and high technology projection experience hall are applied. The performance is staged at an all-close outdoor field.
